The scream
Standing here, in our sacred land, the fire of our hearts expands through the primary noise that proves our existence. When our scream rumbles, we celebrate our identity, we assert our way of thinking and we show the invader, proudly, the ancestral power that protects us.

The pretty thought
The beauty of being indigenous, the beauty of being alive, the beauty of mother earth and being sustained by her, the beauty of plants and how much they help us heal, the beauty of having an identity, a language and a culture of our own, all this fertilized my thought. And, thinking pretty, nothing disturbs me.

The good laugh
Ask ourselves about the meaning of life or laugh thanks to our sense of humor? What a question! We don’t precisely speak meaning everything we say, we tend to talk in a double sense and share the lightness of our souls through our smiles. The capacity of laughing at ourselves accompanies us everywhere we go, and with a good laugh we can always take a slice of joy.

Joy
How joyous are our meetings, our harvests, our dances, our feasts, sharing with others and with mother earth! We celebrate every season, every event, the Uakjnaité and the Bëtsknaté as great parties of pride for what we are and for living the way we do. Every single day is truly a party, and we have to celebrate it with the same passion.

Mockery
The invader has a curious way of demonstrating his ‘power’: violence. Today, we show him that he’s not welcome and draw limits for him. However, we would never do to him what he did to us. We don’t use aggression because in nature violence actually does not exist: all the universe cooperates. So today we stick out our tongues to the very idea of aggression and this way we remember we don’t admit it towards ourselves either.

The piper
The flute is a tribute to all the sounds of nature that are vibrations of joy, peace and harmony. Our voice is the voice of the birds, our drum is the beat of our hearts and our maracas are the calling of the soul. We honor the wind, the rain, the waterfalls and all the sounds of the beautiful orchestra that mother earth gifts us. Long live the music!

Amazement
When thankfulness surges from the deepest of the heart, amazement turns out to be the most natural and genuine form we have of expressing it. Our admiration of the magic and the beauty of the universe, our surprise by the divine and the sacred, our gratitude for life, health and family, don’t need a single word when we are really amazed.
